The United States holiday of called Thanksgiving began after the Civil War.
Then, President Lincoln established the holiday as a way to bring unity after a brutal war.
We should give thanks for all that we have in this country!
If you were to travel to Europe, one thing you would note is the lack of ability for the poor to pull themselves out of their situation. We are a very wealthy country and our poor are generally looked after and given a hand up by their wealthier brothers.
The United States gives out more aid to the poor than any other country.
